Shoes For Industry: a bunch of oddballs who recorded an album called Talk Like A Whelk (1980) for the Fried Egg label. A bit arty (yes, again), a bit angular, some dance potential and a lot of fun. Minor local success with a couple of singles, though I don't think they gained any kind of national recognition. Were played by John Peel. A pleasure just trying to remember anything about them.

This is just like listening to John Peel all over again!
(More please..)
Lots more planned, C.
I really enjoyed this. Sonically I would never have guessed that it's 33 years old. Brilliant.
