Happy Birthday, Mr.Walker.



Next (1968)

Yesterday we celebrated Bowie's birthday and fabulous return, today it's Scott Walker's turn. Happy birthday, great man. Here's his wonderful version of Brel's 'Next' from Scott 2 (1968). He has a new album out now. Forever young, even at 70.

He and Bowie must know some secret of eternal youth - amazing.
'Next' is quite a song, isn't it... the version I know best is the Alex Harvey Band, from a very memorable (and rather menacing) clip of them doing it on OGWT!

C: I hope I can look as good that these fellows if I'm lucky enough to reach their ages. Harvey's version of 'Next' is one of my favourite songs. I, too, first heard it on the OGWT and was astounded.
